Sealants & Caulking
Caulking between blocks and bricks, around windows and doors, and in other areas prevents air and water from getting into your building and causing damage. Caulking also lowers the cost of heating and cooling a building by preventing outside air from getting in.
Over time, even the best caulking product will wear down and need to be replaced. Resealing these areas can be labor intensive but necessary to protect the integrity of the property. In general, caulk needs to be replaced every ten years, but it should be inspected annually to identify cracks in the caulking or shrinkage. Regular maintenance staff can perform the annual inspection, or you can contact ECBS to have us check your building for issues, including worn caulking.
Below-Grade Waterproofing
